Wow, I can't believe I got 5 comments on that last post. Maybe xanga isn't dead afterall?

Last week we went to Kiawah Island in South Carolina. It was a great family vacation. Here are a few pictures I took.

Last weekend we took a trip to see Kat's brother up in Cleveland. It was my first time visiting the city, and the weather was incredible. We also went to an Indians game, and although the game was pretty slow, I took the opportunity to take a lot of pictures. The Canon SD 800 is one of the best purchases I've probably ever made. Enjoy the pictures.

Today we were in Kenton, OH, trying to find the local high school to watch Kat's brother Michael compete in weightlifting.

We were having trouble finding the high school, so I stopped at a gas station and went inside to ask directions.

The man inside was of "middle eastern" descent if you will, and lets just say his english was atrocious.

This is basically the exact conversation we had, his responses being in the most broken english possible.

Me: Can you tell me where the high school is?
Attendant: Why do you want to go to the high school?
Me: What? Why does that matter? I just need to find it. It's around here somewhere I think.....
Attendant: No, no its not.
Me: Um, I'm pretty sure it is. This is Kenton right? It's Kenton High School. We have directions, we just aren't sure exactly where it is...
Attendant: I don't know where the school is.
Me: What?? How could you not know where it is? You work in the same town!?
Attendant: First you tell me why you want to go to the school, or I will not tell you where it is.
Me: WHAT?? Look, there is an event at the school, some competition, I don't know what it is, WHY does it matter??
Attendant: Fine, you can go find it yourself, go on, go look for it.
Me: Dude, its some weightlifting competition, WHY DOES IT MATTER!?!?

Eventually I got him to tell me how to get there. Gotta be one of the most bizarre conversations i've ever had. Compounded by the fact that he could barely communicate with me to begin with.
